PEX Piping for Tucson Home

PEX Piping for Tucson HomeBuying a Tucson home with PEX piping? My name is Jack Randall, I’m a full-time Tucson Home Inspector and have been so since 2001. I have inspected countless Tucson and Southern Arizona homes with the PEX installed and feel it necessary to provide a little information regarding this product.

Cross-linked Polyethylene (a.k.a PEX) has gained in popularity in the heating and potable water plumbing here in Tucson because of its ease of use and less fittings. Compared with copper or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) piping, PEX can bend around corners where a copper or PVC pipe would need an elbow fitting. It has been my experience that the large builders started using the PEX or Wirsbo piping in 1997.

The following is a very informative link to help you better understand PEX piping,  it’s benefits, limitations and failures. This information is provided for the potential buyers and home owners with or without the PEX type of piping.
